Almarik - a happier life thanks to NoTube
Almarik is a boy from Canada who has already been through a lot at such a young age. For quite some time of his life, he has been fed through a nasogastric tube (NGT). Despite his local team’s lack of confidence, his parents decided to have him weaned off the tube with our help. He made a lot of progress in the Netcoaching program. In a second program, he learned to take the next step in his feeding development and has progressed from baby food and purees to solid foods. Today, he eats the same meals as the rest of his family, both at home and at restaurants. The entire team is very proud of Almarik and his amazing progress!
Tell us about your experience with your child’s mealtime situation (with or without a feeding tube). What was it like before, during, and after treatment? How did you feel during the program? What was difficult; what was easy? What kind of changes did you notice in your child? Share what is important to you with other parents…:
The No Tube online coaching program has literally changed the life of my little son, Almarik. Because he had been fed through a tube since birth—due to severe heart problems—and for over a year and a half, the doctors believed he would never be able to eat on his own, since he hadn’t developed the basic skills necessary for that at birth. They recommended that we have Almarik undergo surgery to create an opening in his stomach through the abdominal wall and insert a permanent feeding tube.
Thanks to No Tube, our dear boy has escaped the doctors’ grim prognosis and will be able to lead a more normal life, just like everyone else. I am so grateful for the valuable advice I’ve received, as well as for the support, regular communication, words of encouragement, kindness, and creativity of the program’s professionals.
Almarik will benefit from the No Tube program for the rest of his life. That is the best gift we could have given him. Many thanks to the entire No Tube team.
